Conventional floor casting requires formwork and takes a considerable amount of time to prepare the formwork. By using the precast half slab product, the use of formwork can be eliminated because the half slab also functions as formwork that does not need to be dismantled again. Casting the topping with wiremesh reinforcement makes the concrete a monolith. Half slab is suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms. Half slab prices are quite competitive compared to conventional floor casting methods. In addition, by using a half slab, your project work will be faster and the owner will receive a faster return on investment.
Advantages :
- Deflection due to loading is minimized by the prestressing force.
- With topping, the structure becomes monolithic.
- Short installation time, easy, and does not require much scaffolding.
- Eliminates the need for formwork.
- The underside is exposed concrete, allowing it to be used directly as a ceiling.
- Reduces material requirements: approximately 50% of concrete volume and 100% of tensile reinforcement at the bottom.
